Certifications
ShiftFlex tracks employee certifications and enforces skill requirements on shifts. Only employees with valid certifications can claim or be assigned to roles that require them.
Defining Certifications
Managers first define the certifications relevant to their organization (e.g., Food Handler's Permit, First Aid, Forklift License).
- Go to Settings → Certifications.
- Tap Add Certification and enter a name.
- Optionally set whether the certification has an expiry date.
- Save. The certification is now available to assign to employee profiles.
Assigning Certifications to Employees
- Go to Team → tap the employee's name.
- Tap Certifications on their profile.
- Add the certification and enter the expiry date if applicable.
- Save. The employee's profile now shows this certification as active.
Requiring Certifications on Shifts
When creating a shift, managers can specify required certifications. Only employees holding those certifications will see the shift in their feed and be eligible to claim it.
Expiry Alerts
When an expiry date is set, ShiftFlex sends a notification to the manager 30 days before expiry. Expired certifications are flagged in the employee profile and highlighted in the shift assignment flow to prevent non-compliant scheduling.
